New York will become the world's number one financial center by 2025. The largest and most populous city in the United States achieved the highest score in the Global Financial Centers Index (GFCI) released by London-based commercial research firm Z/Yen, with 766 points.

This ranking is calculated using a factor assessment model that uses two different inputs, namely instrumental factors and financial center assessments. The instrumental factors are taken from the United Nations ICT Development Index, the World Economic Forum's Network Readiness Index, and Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index.

102. Jakarta – 657 Points

Meanwhile, Jakarta ranks 91st out of 120 cities with a global financial center index score of 668 points. Indonesia's position is still below Kuala Lumpur, which ranks 45th with a score of 714 points.

However, Jakarta ranks above Bangkok, which is in 102nd place with a global financial center index score of 657 points. Jakarta also ranks above Manila, which is in 104th place with a score of 655 points.
