A number of automotive brands are competing to record the highest sales in Indonesia in the first quarter of 2026. Despite the domestic market not having fully recovered, Toyota continues to solidify its position as the national automotive market leader. At the same time, Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD is closing in on Honda’s position.

According to Gaikindo data, cumulative wholesale car sales from January to March 2026 reached 209,021 units, marking a 1.7% year-over-year (YoY) increase compared to the same period the previous year, which recorded 205,539 units.
