According to Carnewschina (Chinese automotive media), sales of the Denza D9 premium MPV topped the list of best-selling electric cars in Indonesia in March 2025. This proves the success of Denza D9 in the local Chinese market, as well as in international markets such as Indonesia.
According to the wholesales data of the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), in March 2025 Denza D9 successfully sold 1,587 units. When combined with sales from January to March 2025, this model has sold a total of 2,524 units.
With sales of more than 1,500 units in April, Denza became the best-selling electric car, beating BYD M6, BYD Sealion 7, Chery J6, AION Hyptec, Wuling Air ev, then Wuling Binguo EV, BYD Atto 3, Wuling Cloud EV, and BYD Seal.
For those who don't know, Denza is a premium brand from BYD. In Indonesia, Denza has marketed a premium MPV variant of Toyota Alphard's competitor, the D9. With a price much cheaper than Alphard. In Indonesia, the Denza D9 price is priced at IDR 950 million. Interestingly, this price is much cheaper than the price of Denza D9 in China, which reaches Rp 1.153 billion or Rp 203 million more expensive.
Not only selling well in Indonesia, Denza D9 is also selling well in its home country. In March 2025, the Denza D9 in China sold up to 9,326 units. According to Carnewschina, the Denza D9 is widely accepted by the public due to its comprehensive features and almost no weaknesses. As a result, the vehicle has consistently ranked at the top since its launch in 2022.
